Diversify the Stage

Diversify The Stage was founded by Noelle Scaggs, co-lead vocalist of Alt-Pop Band Fitz And The Tantrums, in the Spring of 2020 after connecting with industry leaders to discuss the lack of diversity encountered while on tour. Through these conversations, recognition of shared concerns, and need for change, Noelle decided to partner with like-minded individuals and organizations to create action and long-term change with two goals in mind:

1. Creating one comprehensive, central and industry-wide resource for hiring touring staff. This resource will be a place where touring professionals can market themselves and gain access to career opportunities, bringing forth a technical solution to the commonly used word of mouth referrals.

2. Curating youth and college-aged programming in partnership with established nonprofit and industry-led organizations that focus on the industries’ most underrepresented communities. Participants in these programs will become the next generation of leaders in the industry and a new resource pool of qualified candidates.
